Debra Wallace has owned
the school since 1996 and is assisted by Lucille Jardim,
the principal, who runs the school, with the help of the
invaluable teachers, secretary and four domestic staff.
The teachers and office staff are all qualified,
dedicated and experienced. They are also all first aid
trained and a number of security measures are in place.
The school prides itself on a professional approach and
a high standard of education within a loving, fun, happy
and caring environment.
Bryanston Pre-Primary School is set on one acre of
ground, in the heart of Bryanston and has a large
garden, which contains a cycle track, sand pits, swings,
an extensive jungle gym, a woodwork bench, water play
troughs, a boat and a fully furnished outdoor fantasy
corner.
Aftercare and holiday care are available on a regular or
casual basis. Our fees are all-inclusive, including
daily hot lunch, stationery, toiletries, sunscreen,
juice and hot chocolate, weekly baking, music lessons,
sports lessons, monthly puppet shows and termly outings.
The school employs a mandatory school hat rule and the
teachers apply sunscreen to the children’s faces and
shoulders before they play outside. A variety of extra
murals are offered on the school premises.
In conjunction with a comprehensive educational
programme, we have many special, fun days included such
as Fantasy Dress Up Day, Spring Bonnet Parades, Easter
Parades, visits from the “Wild Animal Farm”, watching
chicks hatch from eggs over 3 days, drumming workshops
and many more.
A weekly newsletter is sent out to parent’s to keep them
well informed on events and happenings at the school.
Throughout the year, there are three teacher/parent
talks set up to afford all parents the opportunity to
speak privately with their child’s teacher to discuss
progress and any concerns, should they not already have
been discussed. Two reports on children’s progress are
issued through the year.
We also have an Educational Consultant, Bo Acheson, and
a Speech Therapist, Zoe Howie, who assist and advise on
any problem areas.
Family involvement is encouraged and enjoyed during
Grandparent’s Day, Father & Child Day, Mother & Child
Day, Concerts, Parent Evenings, Coffee Mornings, Cake
Sales, Birthday Rings, Nannies Day and a Mini Walk to
name a few. An active parent’s committee gets involved
with the planning and preparations of the various
functions.
Bryanston Pre-Primary School is a feeder school to both
private and public schools and has established itself as
a professional educational institution.
The School is a fun, exciting introduction to education
and the children are well prepared for primary school
both socially and academically once they leave.
