PLG Mellow Oaks Academy

PLG Mellow Oaks Academy opened its doors in January 2016. Centrally located in Ruimsig, Roodepoort, the school is situated in a tranquil, picturesque environment with rolling fields and trees. Mellow Oaks Academy currently offers schooling from Grade RRR - Grade 9. In 2017 the school will be offering Gr 10, and will thereafter roll out the FET Phase on an annual basis, with the first matric class finishing in 2019. The school will be offering an Independent Examinations Board (IEB) matric certificate.

Mellow Oaks Academy has seen rapid growth over the course of 2016 and will be expanding it's offering in 2017. Whilst growth is welcome, we are careful to ensure that our class sizes remain at a maximum of 20 pupils in the Preschool and 25 from Grade 1, and the school management aim to maintain the 'family environment' and community-centred atmosphere that makes it so unique. The school has strong Christian values, which underlie the approach to teaching, leadership and discipline. The Christian values are alluded to in the school's motto "Rooted in Faith, Growing in Knowledge". Staff subscribe to the belief that one lives and leads by example.

Being a new school the PLG Schools group is in the process of developing the grounds and adding some great facilities. In developing the property care will be taken to maintain the integrity of the beautiful surroundings as much as possible.
