Alex Blaikie is a small, intimate Montessori school, set in a home-like environment. Our son attended for 3 years and our daughter is going into her 3rd year there. They have received dedicated, focused attention, especially due to the small class sizes, as well as a quality, authentic Montessori education. I highly recommend this well-run, well-established school to any families looking for a personal and down to earth school setting for your little ones. Thank you, Bronwyn and your wonderful team of teachers, for always supporting and giving loving care to our children, meeting them where they are at, allowing them to learn at their own pace and offering the guidance for them to thrive.

We all love Alex Blaikie Montessori School - children and parents! Our eldest daughter attended the school for 3 years and our youngest is on her third year there. We moved to the area 3 years ago and chose the school for the proximity to our house and because it was highly recommended by fellow parents in the neighbourhood. At that stage we weren’t really familiar with the Montessori teaching style, but after seeing both our daughters flourish at school, I wouldn’t recommend any other kind of pre-primary education style. The school is small with a very at-home feeling and dedicated attention which is amazing for little children and their first school experience. Besides the high quality of education and care, there are some other features that make this school amazing. For starters, the pickup time is by just before 3pm (where many schools charge an additional fee for aftercare as school day finishes by noon). Also, every school term starts on a Monday, while many other schools usually would start on a Tuesday or Wednesday making working parents have to make extra arrangements for child care for the extended holidays. I highly recommend ABM and hope many more families in the area choose it for their little ones!

I am happy to share my heartwarming experience with ABM. When my son joined the school, he exclusively spoke Afrikaans. He seamlessly transitioned and adapted to his new environment. His interest in mathematics and overall learning soared because of exceptional teaching and supportive community at the school. My baby girl struggled with separation anxiety, but the school's compassionate and skilled approach helped her overcome this challenge. School is now her favorite place to be. The educators at ABM genuine commitment to my children's well-being and development has created an environment where my kids not only excel academically but also form meaningful connections. It is truly heartening to witness both my children holding a deep affection for their educators. ABM has proven to be the best decision we have ever made, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to any parent seeking an outstanding educational and nurturing experience for their children.

An update on my review left 2 years ago: now both my sons go to Alex Blaikie. The environment is stimulating and the staff are nurturing. As a parent, we pray that our kids are surrounded by people who can raise them up, build their confidence and teach them how to navigate this world correctly. My children continue to be a testament to the educational approaches and kindness Alex Blaikie has, and we cannot wait for our daughter to have the same secure and supportive environment soon

The changes I've seen in my son's behaviour is incredible! He LOVES going to school and has grown in confidence. Such a happy and nurturing environment. The best decision we ever made for our family! Cannot rave about this school enough!!!
