I must say I was quite impressed with Dinky ECD when I registered my little girl in 2023. Everything started off well and the Principal is without doubt an amazing teacher but no one could have prepared me for the events that took place at this school. I had clearly stated my daughter's allergies but this didn't stop them from giving her nuts on two occasions. When I found out through my niece who was a guest during the holidays that they were giving my daughter Nutella, I went to the school to find out what was going on and they apologized, with the Principal claiming that "it was only a little bit and wouldn't happen again". I forgave this incident after being promised that it wouldn't happen again. A few months down the line, I got a strange feeling to rush to the school although it was early. I trusted my instinct and headed there, when I arrived one of the teachers approached me with my baby in her arms, she looked exhausted and her face was clearly swollen. The Principal was present and I confronted him as calmly as I could. He told me that they had Nutella again and he had no idea that Nutella had nuts. At this point I was disappointed and in complete shock regarding my daughter's condition. From the school, we rushed to the doctor where she was stabilized. Two days after this incident, my baby experienced trouble breathing and this time around I rushed her to the hospital. It was established that her asthma attack was triggered by the allergy reaction. We were hospitalised for 6 days. From the day we left the school, no one bothered to check in with us and that was our last day at Dinky. I do not recommend this school to any parent. It is money driven and they've proved to me that they have no regard for children under their care.
