Small World Preschool is an outstanding institution and the only 100% Regio school in South-Africa. My daughter loves attending every day, which speaks volumes about the nurturing environment they provide. The teachers are beyond awesome—truly dedicated and caring—and the Principal, Lindi, is exceptional in every way. This is hands down the best preschool in South Africa, and I couldn’t recommend it more!
We've been absolutely delighted with our experience at Small World School! The moment you step through the doors, you can feel the creativity and enthusiasm that permeates every aspect of this special place. The teachers are truly exceptional - kind, patient, and dedicated to bringing out the best in each child. They've created a curriculum that's both fun and engaging, with a perfect balance of structure and freedom. What really sets Small World apart, though, is its commitment to fostering creativity and imagination. From the vibrant artwork that adorns the walls to the innovative play-based learning activities, every detail is designed to inspire young minds. As a parent, it's been incredible to watch our child grow and thrive in this nurturing environment. We feel grateful to be a part of the Small World community and can't recommend it highly enough!
This school is very unique and special. Our children thrive in the Reggio Emilia approach, which places the children in the centre and invites them to explore, wonder, investigate, feel, understand, express and team up. The teachers really see our children. The school ground and the always changing class rooms, art-, STEM and theatre ateliers are full of play and inspiration: The kids sit on the ground a lot, not static at chairs and tables all the time, the walls look like moodboards with materials, questions, colors and ideas, always fascinating to look at. No art work made by the children is the same and on Mondays they have Park school on the other side of the street. Nature as a third teacher. Lots of what the children do is carefully documented and shared with the parents. Underneath the art works always is an explanation written, that gives us parents an idea of their inner world, ideas and interests. It is amazing how this school gives space to the interest of each child and can let these ideas come out and make them visible. I believe sending them to this marvelous school is the best gift we could have ever given our children, a fantastic start for the growing brain creating endless routes for the future. We are from the Netherlands, where the quality of schools is high, but they could definitely learn from this creative and smart way of teaching through play, joy, cooperation, research, expression and imagination.
A magical school, where your child grows in a nurturing, natural, kind environment. School really shouldn’t just be about learning to count, following rules, becoming obsessed about productivity. It should be fun, allow the child to learn about themselves and the environment, and they should feel safe and loved while doing so….and that’s what Small World does. The way my child has developed in this one year attending this school, I can’t be more satisfied and grateful. Loving teachers, efficient admin, safe grounds. I love it.
My oldest son was at Small World for 4 years and my youngest is in his 2nd year at Small World. It is a real treasure of a school. I love the creativity and freedom that the children have. They get exposed to so much knowledge about nature, art and the world around them. Each child is celebrated for their own uniqueness and talents. Small World places a lot of value on partnering with families and the community around them. All of the staff members have so much passion for their jobs and the children they interact with. When I ask my son who his best friends are at school, he tells me the names of his teachers. They get delicious fruit snacks and vegetarian lunches. The children have the best time playing and learning all day, while also getting very messy and full of paint in the process :)
